Clothes’ Language
Clothes are one of the requisite needs for people. Since prehistory age people need to wear clothes. In that time people wore clothes for keep save and prevent their body. They did not measure clothes which they wore. In this century, people basically wear clothes in same reason but with some differences. People wear clothes to be a part of society, to affect other people, and to be different from other.
First of all, every nation or culture has their own traditional custom. They wear their custom during daily life. They prefer to keep their ancestor clothes style. So they can transmit their culture to next generation. For example, Scottish men wear skirt as a part of their culture. When I see a man who wears skirt, I know that he is Scottish. In addition, every army has a uniform for their soldier. It provides to make easy and discipline. Also it is put some dignity sign to uniform to categorize soldier. In this case, clothes give us some information about the person who wears it.
Second, some people wear different kind of clothes such as sexy and attractive clothes to influence other. It is not necessary to be sexy but these kinds of clothes are worn to influence other. For example, a businessman should always wear nice clothes. This is a part of his job. Their clothes should be ironed, new brand and clean. Also it is true when someone wear sexy clothes especially women, opposite gender interested in them or look them.
Third, people wear clothes for being different from others. Their clothe style is different from rest. In a society, generally everybody wear closed clothes but some people mostly young people want make differences at their society. For example, I saw some people in USA and they wear too tight jean. I have not seen this kind of jean before.
In consequently, clothes show people’s attitude, life style, social group, tradition. People wear clothes not only keep them warm, but also they wear clothes to show them custom, which society they are in, to affect other people and to be different from others. I think that we can judge people through their clothes.
